                                                       Experienced and Well-trained Notary Public

When you have important documents to notarize, don't settle for the inconsistent training and inexperience of mailing service notaries. I'm an experienced and well-trained notary public who serves individuals and businesses in Merrifield and throughout Fairfax County. I'll save you time and effort by traveling to your home, office, or hospital.

Q. What is the role of a notary public?

A. The notary public verifies the identity of the signer; acts as an impartial witness to the signing; and confirms that the person appearing before them is signing knowingly and voluntarily, without duress. In Virginia, the notary can perform the following notarial acts: take acknowledgements, administer oaths and affirmations, certify a true copy of a document, and administer affidavits or depositions of witnesses.

Q. How does the notary verify the signer's identity?

A. The signer must present at least one form of a current government-issued photo ID as prescribed by the state of Virginia, such as a driver's license or passport. An acceptable form of ID contains a photograph, signature, and a physical description. Please note, that as of 2026, notaries cannot accept the Virginia Mobile ID (mID) for notarization purposes.

Q. Do you travel to senior living communities and hospitals in Northern Virginia?

A. Yes, I travel to 25 senior living communities in Northern Virginia.

Q. What types of documents can you notarize?

A. Legal documents: These include contracts, powers of attorney, deeds, travel consent forms, affidavits, adoption agreements, and more.

Real estate transactions: Whether you're buying, selling, or refinancing your home, I will ensure that the documents are properly signed, witnessed, and notarized in compliance with Virginia law. If needed, I can scan the signed file, send it back to title, and hand deliver it to the local title company or to FedEx or UPS.

Estate planning documents: Once you've created your estate plan or trust package, I will ensure that your documents are properly signed, witnessed, and notarized. These documents include the medical/financial power of attorney, living trust, last will & testament, and more.

Q. Aside from meeting at my home, where else can I meet the notary?

A. Besides meeting at your home, some good meeting spots include your office, senior living community, your attorney's office, realtor's office, the public library, a bank, or even a coffee shop.
