What is Your Responsibility as the Contact Person?
- You should examine the document to be notarized to confirm that its contents are correct.
- You should determine if the document requires any witnesses other than the notary public.
- You will have to confirm in advance of scheduling that the inmate has their unexpired ID.
- The inmate you're arranging this for must be aware you are sending a notary to the jail.
- The inmate must understand and agree to the purpose of the document.
- The inmate must confirm with you that they are willing to sign the document.
- Payment must be made in advance of appointment. Refunds cannot be issued if the inmate is unaware or refuses to sign the document.
